Program Details
Our rugged Residential Program includes four hours of English classes in the morning Monday-to-Friday, along with class projects, debates and interclass activities emphasizing communication skills. Students are assigned classes based on their English ability after taking the entry placement test upon arrival. Oral skills are emphasized and teachers also include grammar, reading and writing skills resulting in record performance by the students. The curriculum follows the syllabus of Languages Canada and all teachers are screened and ESL-certified. With the expertise of Kingswood's teaching staff, students develop their language skills, build confidence and foster a love of the English language while safely enjoying themselves in a safe and exciting foreign country.
As part of the Program, students will immerse themselves in local Canadian classes, visit famous local downtown Vancouver/Squamish/Whistler landmarks and attractions and take part in fun-filled activities such as a day trip to the world-famous ski resort town of Whistler, Sea to Sky Gondola ride, ice skating in a safe environment and much more! There is two full day excursions each week. In the evenings, students are encouraged to take part in games that emphasize team-building, language usage and self-reflection. All activities are strictly supervised by our on-site counseling staff, all of whom follow British Columbia Camps Association guidelines.
